President and Chief Investment Officer
Ron was named President of GLC in 2018 and he is responsible for all of GLC’s investment management and business operations, making him ultimately responsible for the strategic direction of GLC and ensuring GLC’s investment performance remains strong. He will continue as the Chief Investment Officer of GLC, a role he assumed in 2014.
As CIO, Ron oversaw GLC’s growth of assets under management from $38 billion to over $55 billion today. Prior to 2014, Ron held the role of Chief Investment Strategist at GLC, building on his direct portfolio management experience in equity and balanced portfolios, including specialty portfolio strategies.
Ron is known for taking decisive action and a collaborative leadership style. He has led many large-scale initiatives for GLC, including signing on to the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investing, the development of several new and specialty mandates, and the strategic positioning and mandate alignment of each of GLC’s distinct investment teams.
Ron is a CFA charterholder and earned an honours bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Manitoba.
Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Business Development
Nancy is responsible for all strategic marketing initiatives, communications and business development of GLC's investment operations.
She consults with business partners, financial advisors and corporate clients on product development, investment strategy, capital market insights and portfolio design.
Nancy has more than 30 years of investment industry experience and has held a range of senior investment management roles.
She has experience in strategic portfolio management and investment policy development for corporate, pension and institutional clients.
Nancy has been instrumental in broadening the scope of GLC-managed fund offerings on the segregated and mutual fund platforms of some of Canada’s largest financial companies.
A strategic thinker with a business focus, her ability to forge a strong team has elevated GLC’s offering from coast to coast.
Nancy is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from McMaster University and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Guelph.
Senior Vice-President, Finance and Operations; Chief Compliance Officer
Frank is responsible for all GLC's financial management, operations and compliance-related activities.
Frank has more than 30 years of industry experience. His expertise on issues affecting the asset management industry are often sought out by Canada’s regulatory and asset management governing bodies such as the Portfolio Managers’ Association of Canada.
His team provides support to GLC's investment management divisions, including portfolio reporting, portfolio analytics and investment data and technology. Frank’s team is driven to ensure GLC’s portfolio managers have the information needs and processes in place for effective portfolio management, that there is proper oversight of the portfolios GLC manages, and that the senior leadership team have the resources and reporting for their respective business units.
Frank is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant and holds a bachelor of arts degree (economics) from Queen's University.
Vice-President, Marketing and Communications
Christine is responsible for overseeing all of GLC’s communications, branding and marketing initiatives. Her team shares insights into GLC’s portfolio strategies, market views and industry themes.
Christine works closely with GLC’s portfolio management teams. Her insight into current market conditions and financial market themes have appeared in national pieces for more than a decade such as in GLC’s monthly Market Matters.
Bringing more than 15 years of industry experience to the table, Christine’s marketing acumen, deep understanding of the asset management industry and straightforward communication style have brought the GLC brand to life across the country.
Christine is GLC’s bilingual representative (French) and a long-time member of the American and Canadian Marketing Associations (AMA and CMA). She has also served as a panel judge for the CMA’s national awards.
Christine earned her Chartered Marketer (CM) designation and holds a bachelor of arts degree (psychology) and certificate in practical French (certificat de Français pratique) from Western University.
